The primary purpose of the Institute for Dance,
Inc. is to provide arts education to people within the 18 and younger
age range through the study and/or exposure to the art of dance. Except
for several adult classes offered, all classes are for people 20 months
to 18 years. Through our public programs and performances, the Institute for Dance, Inc., also plays a
large role in exposing and educating a large number of school children
to the art of dance.
All of the instructors teaching at the Institute
for Dance are seasoned professionals with experience in professional
performances, teaching dance, and choreography. Professional level
training is available to our teachers and advanced level students.
Students are required to demonstrate proficiency in the skills taught
in their assigned level before progressing to the next higher level of
difficulty. Classes and programs are focused on education and the
development of dancing skills. Rehearsals for public performances serve
as a strong, reinforcing focal point for the development of each
dancer's progress and are scheduled outside of regular class
instruction time.
The Institute for Dance, Inc. is not affiliated
with the local schools; however, our dance programs are designed to
enhance school arts programs. Through dance instruction students
receive a sense of dedication and focus that has a direct positive
effect on the academic life of our students.
The Institute for Dance, Inc., is open to everyone
regardless of race, sex, color, religion, and national or ethnic
origin. The Institute for Dance, Inc. is recognized by the Internal
Revenue Service of the United States Government as a tax-exempt,
non-profit corporation.
