I & Ballet IA
Classes are designed to give a good foundation in proper ballet
technique using more barre and center work with emphasis on promoting a
good work attitude while promoting self-confidence. Ballet IA students
are strongly encouraged to attend at least two ballet classes per week.
Ballet
II, IIA, III, Intermediate, and Advanced
Classes are divided by ability and experience with an emphasis on barre
technique, center, and performance. Vaganova I syllabus.
Beginning,
Intermediate, and Advanced Pointe
Prerequisite:
Previous ballet training and evaluation by instructor, ages ten and up
All students taking pointe are required
to take a minimum of two ballet technique classes per week. Students
must maintain a healthy weight.
Character
Pre-requisite: Must
be level II ballet student.
The study of folk dance from various countries. A foundation for
classical ballet performance where elaborated folk dancing is used.
Variation/Adage/Pas
de Deux
From classical ballets offered to advanced level ballet dancers who
take unlimited level ballet classes. Good, strong technique is required
to participate in partnering. Must be evaluated by instructor before
attending class.

I, II
Prerequisite:
Students should have at least 2 concurrent years of ballet.
Co-requisite: Modern I: Ballet IIA, III, or Teen Ballet
Co-requisite: Modern II: Intermediate or Advanced Ballet
Exceptions are at the instructor's discretion.
Modern dance is comprised of highly individualized movements based upon
personalized, ever-changing artistic standards. It can help give a
grace and poise to all movements and expand awareness and appreciation
of the way the student and others move.

theatrical styles.

Early Childhood

Introduction
to Dance, ages 3-4, 4-5
An exploratory class combining tap and ballet or jazz preparing
students for basic ballet, jazz and tap techniques. Designed to promote
basic motor skills development, while teaching coordination,
confidence, and music appreciation. A great first class!
Pre-Ballet,
ages 5-6
An introduction to basic ballet techniques through beginning barre and
center work. Foundation classes emphasizing proper posture,
coordination, music awareness, and basic ballet moves.
Tap/Jazz
Combo, ages 5-6
An introduction to basic tap and jazz.
Foundation classes emphasizing proper posture, coordination, music
awareness, and basic tap and jazz moves.

Hip Hop
For ages 8 to 10 years old. Introduces jazz techniques with age-appropriate music and social dance movements.
Beginner

Incorporates jazz technique with contemporary social dance movement.

Builds on previous training in jazz techniques and further incorporates contemporary social dance movement.

Advanced

Furthers understanding of jazz techniques and expression of individual style with contemporary social dance movement.

An interpretive dance that combines

Ballet, Teen/Adult Tap, and Teen/Adult Jazz
This class is for those students who wish to begin at an older age.
Emphasis is on basic technique development. It is a good class for
those who wish to get in shape, have fun, and not follow a more serious
course of study.
Pilates
Exercise and strenghtening classes focused on the core postural muscles which help keep the body balanced and which are essential to providing support for the spine. Teaches awareness of breath and alignment of the spine, and helps strengthen the deep torso muscles. Weeky classes taught by Certified Pilates Instructor, Kristine Antis.
Adult
Exercise Ballet
This class is for adults who wish to begin or begin again at an older
age. Emphasis is on basic technique development. It is a good class for
those who wish to get in shape or just have fun.
Adult
Intermediate Ballet
This class is for adults who have
completed at least two years of ballet. Class moves at a faster pace
than Adult Exercise Ballet. Not for the beginner.

Celtic

Prerequisite:
Must be at least six years of age.
Hard and soft shoe traditional Irish
dancing. Special master classes for those interested in feisanna.

Class
Available through prearrangement with instructor. Offers the student
who needs additional training or special attention to work one-on-one
with the instructor. Please schedule conference time in the office to
discuss arrangements. Sixty to ninety-minute classes available. Payment
is made to the instructor.
Semi-Private
Class
Specially scheduled class for two students who desire additional
training or special attention. Good opportunity to work on student
choreography with the help from the Artistic Director or Instructor.
