For the holidays, The Institute for Dance brings a wonderful production for the whole family. For many years, we performed The Nutcracker, and in 2007 we wrote and produced our own
original production, Christmas in Williamsburg.
In the spring, Institute for Dance produces any number of delightful
ballets. Spring productions are performed by the upper level ballet
students. All rehearsals are held outside of the classroom and
performers are chosen by audition.
An Afternoon of Dance is the studio's annual school performance. This is where all of our dancers
(from the ages of 3 to 103) have a turn in the spotlight. Classes are
held as usual. Choreography is done in the classroom beginning in
February.
The Institute for Dance also performs in many local arts events, such as An Occasion for the Arts
and The Waterfront Festival, charity events, and in local schools.
In order to participate in any of our
performances, the studio asks that students attend all assigned classes
and rehearsals. Only those who attend regular classes, summer classes
and seminars will be considered for performing roles.
